PAST EVENTS:

Too Hot to Handel:

Kappas met at the Detroit Opera House for a lively, toe-tapping, finger snapping rendition of Handel’s Messiah! This performance is presented each year by the Rackham Choir.

Annual Christmas Cookie Baking Project:

Detroit Kappas also met on Dec. 12 to roll out sugar cookies to be decorated the following week by kids at the interim shelter. Thanks for all your help with this event!

 

Science Building Dedication- Oct. 2009:

Kappas met for Madonna’s new “green” science building dedication on October 15, followed by dinner!

 

Dinner Meeting- Sept. 2009:

Local Detroit Kappas met for an enjoyable evening of dining, conversation and Kappa updates on September 21 at the Olive Garden in Livonia! Books were collected for children at the Interim Shelter, teen girls at Vista Maria, and for adults learning to read at the Siena Literacy Center. Also collected were “Earth Friendly” paper products, canned goods and gently used, clean clothing for children and adults at Interim Shelter, St. Christine’s Food Pantry/Soup Kitchen, and Vista Maria. Thank you for all your donations!

Your Dues at Work: Thanks to Your Support!

Your Detroit Chapter of Kappa Gamma Pi contributes to: children in a local shelter, special projects for the re-building of communities for victims of national disasters, food for the needy, and provides for program speakers.

A small percentage provides for the cost of mailings & printing 2 yearly newsletters to all local dues payers.

Email newsletters are used for the remaining issues to save money. When sending your 2009- 2010 dues,

please indicate your interest in upcoming events, and update any personal information and just return it. Thanks…
